My review:
I won a paperback copy of Portal back in 2010 on Goodreads. I was really happy and I didn't know what to expect as it was the first book I read from Imogen Rose and what a good surprise!!
The story is so original. She got me right at the beginning of the book. You know how it works, most of the time, we can tell if we will like a book around page 100 but not with her books. You immediately fall in love with the characters.
Arizona Stevens lives alone with her father. She doesn't have any boyfriend and don't think about that at all. Her passion is playing Hockey and not in a girls' team, with the boys' team!! She hates her mother and she thinks her little sister is annoying. She have a dog that she loves, Gertrude. Arizona Stevens is not girly at all, she is not into pink and fashion.
One day, she is Arizona Stevens and the next day, she wakes up as Arizona Darley. Gertrude is still with her but for the rest, everything is upside down. She doesn't know what is happening to her. Nobody seems to know her father and she now have a new father which she has never seen before. Her sister seems to know him very well and to love him very much. She found out that she is not a hockey player at all but a cheerleader!! Her closet is filled with top fashion clothes and the most chocking, she has a brother.
She will have to learn to leave in that new life and try to understand and discover what happened to her. More time passes and more she is determined to return to her previous life until she discover love. Will she be able to return to her real life as Arizona Stevens?
