Fire and Ice (The Legend of the Archangel) by L.L. Hunter

Book Description:
Archangels are extinct and the world is inhabited by a half-human/half-angel race called Nephilim. But one Archangel remains – a child born of fire known as The Legend. 21-year-old Nephilim Scarlett Porter is starting her Angel training at the infamous Blackbell Academy, so she doesn’t have time to worry about dreams of mysterious dark angels. The last thing she expected was her dream angel to be Dyston Blackbell, or that finding her was part of his mission – one Dyston is prepared to fail to keep Scarlett safe. Danger is closer to Dyston and Scarlett than they realize. War is brewing, led by The Lucifites, and they need The Legend to carry out their plans. With the help of their friends, the two must find the Lucifites’s leader, and stop his plans for destruction. But will Dyston and Scarlett’s love survive? How far will Scarlett go to save those she loves most?

My Description:
Scarlett Porter is new at Blackbell Academy. She was automatically admitted because she is a Legacy meaning that she is kind of VIP because her parents attended that school before. Being a Legacy also means privilege but she didn't want anybody to know because she didn't want to stand out among the others.

As soon as she meets with Dyston Blackbell she feels like she already know him. He is an awesome guy and especially the one she has been dreaming about since a long time. Dyston told her that she was his mission. He had to find the Legend, the daugther of an Archangel and she is the one. He needs to protect her because great danger awaits her.

Together and with the help of their friends, they will have to fight against the ones who need her to begin a war. Will they be able to save their world? Does love will succeed?

My Opinion:
Another very good reading. I am so happy and grateful that I won that book thank you to L.L. Hunter about that. That was my first book that I read about angels and I really enjoy it. I really like the characters, especially the lovely Dyston. I am still not sure about his brother Lakyn, I will have to read the next book to get to see what will happen with him.

Can't wait to see what's next. I recommend that book without hesitation!!

ARV-3 by Cameo Renae

Book Description:The beginning of the end. The Apocalypse.

A nuclear fallout wiped out every living thing on the planet, except for a few thousand of us who took shelter in underground bunkers across the globe. Now, after thirteen long years, we were finally able to return to the topside to begin to rebuild.

We thought we were alone. We were never more wrong.

Before the fallout, scientists had worked on creating an anti-radiation vaccine (ARV). The first two attempts failed, but despite the incomplete tests and results, the government approved and distributed the third serum to the masses in an effort to aid those who had no shelter.

It worked, keeping those who remained on the topside alive, but it also altered and mutated them. This new and infectious threat had completely outnumbered us. Now, we not only had to rebuild our planet. We would have to fight for it.

My name is Abigail Park. I’m seventeen, and this is my story.

My Description:
Abigail Park lives in a bunker underground which they call a hive with her family and friends because everything above them is completly destroy. They live there for thirtheen years and then they were suppose to go back to the surface to rebuild and bring life back. When they are about to go back to the surface they learned that a great danger is waiting for them.

Before the fallout, the government, knowing they wouldn't be able to save everybody, created a vaccine to help the ones who would stay to survive to radiations. Unfortunately, because they didn't have enough time to test the vaccine, they couldn't predict what would happen. The vaccine did help them to survive but it also transforms them into something not human anymore. They have now become creatures that only want one thing, flesh.

Abigail's father which is the leader of the hive, decides that it's time for them to leave and find the safety zone. They will have to fight these creatures to get there. They have all been trained to fight against human but not necessarily against beasts. Will they be able to survive without any lost? One thing is sure, they can always count on one and the other.

If they get to the safety zone, what will they find?

My Opinion:
First of all, a huge thank to the fabulous Cameo Renae for allowing me to read her book. This story was soo good. It feels great to read something different and the last dystopian reading I made was the Hunger games series so it's a long time ago. I couldn't put it down, I had only 30% read and then I finished it in one day because I wanted to know what would happen to the characters.

I fell in love with the characters which are fantastics and the interactions between them is lovely. The story between Abigail and Finn is more than lovely. If one day, I have to face that kind of situation, I would like to be with a group like that.

Now, I can't wait for book two. I want to see what's next. Will they be able to find an antidote for the arvies? Or will they be able to protect them against the bites? I have so many questions.

I definitively recommend that book!!! And for French peoples, this is an easy reading for a first language French so don't hesitate!! And for the others, we never know, maybe one day it will be translated.

The Characters:
Abigail Park: Abigail was only 4 years old when she enters the hive. She lives there with her parents. She grew up there and learned everything she needs to defend herself and her loves one. She is the best shooter from the hive.

Finn Armstrong: Abigail's best friend. Growing older, they both find new feelings for one and the other.

Also living in the hive: Abigail's parents, Uncle Frank, aunt Sandy and cousin Lily, Anya (Finn's mother), Dr. Jay and Dr. Lisa Banks, Tom Hatch, his wife Wei (botanists)  and their son Charlie and finally Bill and Lorraine Park, Abigail's grandparents.

The Author:
Cameo Renae was born in San Francisco, CA, raised in Maui, Hawaii, and recently moved with her husband and children to Alaska.

She loved reading from as long as she can remember, and it was C.S. Lewis' - Chronicles of Narnia – which sparked a fire in her soul and made her want to create her own wondrous, magical worlds and characters to go on adventures with.

Her published books are In My Dreams (A YA Paranormal Romance Thriller), Hidden Wings (Book  #1 in the HW Series), Descent (A HW Series Novella) and Broken Wings (Book #2 in HW Series).

One day she hopes to find her own magic wardrobe, and ride away on her magical unicorn... until then... she'll keep writing!

Faustine by Imogen Rose

Book Description:
Who is Faustine?  When Faustine Spencer was five years old, she discovered a secret that changed her life forever. At twelve, her parents sent her to Bonfire Academy in Switzerland to ensure that she received the training needed to control her increasing powers.

Three years later, Faustine returns to Manhattan. All she wants is to be a typical teenager, at least, one that’s part of the in-crowd at her Upper East Side High School. When drop-dead gorgeous Ryker, her long-time crush from the Academy, finally notices her, she couldn’t be happier.

However, her desire for a normal life is shattered when her father, a prominent sovereign, disappears after naming her as his successor. Her siblings begin to disappear, and Faustine finds herself in the midst of a power struggle. With her life in danger, Faustine must learn to follow one of Bonfire Academy’s most important rules: Trust no one.

My Description:
Faustine is back home in New York after three years at Bonfire Academy. She just wants to return to a normal life and go to school with her friends.

The same day she returns, she learns that her father is missing and that she must take his place as the Sovereign Demon of London. Not only her father is missing but then somebody got killed and left a message for her. Then one of her siblings disappears and the same message again.

Faustine will have to learn quickly the protocole and everything she has to know to be a good sovereign. Fortunately for her, she will be able to count on the gorgeous Ryker, her crush from Bonfire Academy which now seems to notice her finally and to her longtime friend Neave.

Faustine, with the help of her friends, her mother and others, she will have to prove to the other sovereigns that her father chooses the right person to replace her.

Who is behind all these disappearances? Make sure you read Faustine, you don't want to miss that.

My opinion:
Wow there is a lot of surprises and suspense in that book. There is always something happening. You can never predict what will happen. I really enjoy that book.

That book was the first one of the series that Imogen Rose wrote which probably explains why we don't hear at all about Cordelia and Jagger. I found it a little weird at first (and I really liked these two characters in the Initiation and Integration) but knowing that it's the first book she wrote I understood. Indeed, it's the first book she recommends to read in the serie and now I understand why.

Will be out in French by the beginning of next year.

The Characters:
Faustine: She is now 15 years old and she is back to Manhattan after three years at Bonfire Academy. She learned how to control her demon side but will now have bigger challenges.

Neave: Faustine's longtime best friend. Tessa, Neave's mom was Faustine nanny and they grew up together.

Ryker: Ryker was at Bonfire Academy at the same time as Faustine. He is a wanderer and Faustine had a crush on her when she was at the Academy but they barely talk there. Now he is in Manhattan as well and finally hook up with Faustine.

Dorian: He works for Faustine's father. He will replace Faustine in London the time she study in New York.

Luke: Dorian's son, he help protect Faustine in New York and help her to learn about her new situation.

There are lots of other very good and important characters in the book. I am sure that you will love them as much as I did.

The author:
Imogen Rose is the author of the bestselling series, the Portal Chronicles,  which has attained cult status within indie literature and become a favorite  among teens and adults alike. An immunologist by profession, Dr. Rose published her first work of fiction in 2010. She now writes full time and is currently working on her second teen series, the Bonfire Chronicles. Imogen was born in Sweden and has lived in several places, counting London among her favorites. She moved to New Jersey in 2001. A self-confessed Hermès addict, Imogen freely admits to being obsessed with Kurt Cobain. She enjoys shopping, traveling, watching movies, and hanging out with her family, friends, and Chihuahua.
